I have visited Bath many times over the years and I’m always taken aback by how beautiful it is. When I heard of the Bath skyline walk I couldn’t wait to see the beautiful Georgian architecture that Bath is so famous for from a whole new perspective….

The skyline walk is a circular trail, it takes you through many different landscapes along the way such as fields, meadows and woodlands. When you reach the end of the trail you will be rewarded with the most picturesque views of that beautiful Georgian architecture……

The walk itself is 6 miles long and can take up to 3 hours (maybe more if you take your time enjoying the lovely views) so it’s not for the faint hearted. There is an element of climbing at certain points too so be prepared for that.

I suggest reading the National Trust page :

https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/bath-skyline/trails/bath-skyline-walk

Familiarise yourself with the trail and the route, they also have a online map you can follow with direction to all 11 points….

The walk is well marked along the way to help guide you through, so don’t worry too much if your not a great map reader. (We are terrible map readers and we made it without getting lost!)

The woodland areas that you walk through are steeped in history and are just beautiful…

At certain points you will walk through meadows with farm animals directly in your path……

The views at the end of the trail are what dreams are made of…….

It’s worth noting that there are shorter (family friendly) skyline trails too. So if you don’t fancy a 3 hour walk, look into those on the national trust website. But I’m glad that we did the full trail, its just so beautiful. We certainly burned some calories day too!!
